Participants beat their chests in rhythm, weeping openly in remembrance of the oppression faced by the Ahl al-Bayt (the Household of the Prophet) as traditional Hussaini elegies (Latmiyāt) echoed through the streets.The procession featured moving Ashura speeches that drew timeless lessons from the historic Battle of Karbala.
Speakers emphasized the universal values of freedom, sacrifice, and justice for which the Master of Martyrs rose.
On this sorrowful occasion, we extend our deepest condolences and sympathies to the entire Islamic nation on the martyrdom of Abi Abdillah Hussein (peace be upon him), praying to God Almighty to spread peace and justice throughout the world.
